Veteran pitcher eyes opportunity to continue career with Racers
Akron, OH—Akron Racers GM, Joey Arrietta announced today that the Racers will add veteran pitcher, Sarah Pauly to the 2015 Akron roster. The seven-time All-NPF selection and the 2006 Pitcher of the Year is eager to continue her career with the Racers. The Racers orchestrated the deal with the Rebellion and will yield the 8th overall pick in the 2015 NPF Draft and the Racers 3rd round pick in the 2016 draft to the Pennsylvania Rebellion for the rights to Pauly.
“I am extremely excited to add Sarah to our team,” noted Arrietta. “She has a remarkable record of success in our league and in our system, I believe, she will provide Akron with a legitimate opportunity to return to the championship game in 2015.”
Pauly has been a workhorse in each of her nine seasons since joining the NPF in 2006. Her 91 wins tops the all-time league leaderboard while maintaining an incredible 2.02 ERA in a league that has included the best hitters in the world.
“The Akron Racers have always been a very competitive team in the NPF,” describes Pauly.” It is a great honor that I am now able to play for a team I have faced throughout my career. I am thankful to continue my career as a Racer with an organization I have respected throughout my career in the NPF.”
Pauly, the 6’3 former collegiate All-American and right-handed pitcher from Phoenix, AZ, played collegiately for the Corpus Christi Islanders, from 2002-2005 and owns virtually all the pitching records. She joined the NPFin 2006 and currently has the most wins (91) and innings pitched (1038.2) innings pitched through her nine seasons. She is one of five NCAA Division I pitchers to win 100 games, strikeout 1,000 batters, maintain a -1.00ERA and average double digit strikeouts in a career.
Pauly is currently the pitching coach at her alma mater, the University of Texas, Corpus Christi.
