MYERS COMMITS TO AKRON FOR THE 2015 SEASON
2014 NPF Offensive Player of the Year returns after record-setting season

AKRON – The Akron Racers announced today that Nerissa Myers will return to the Racers after recording one of the best offensive seasons in league history. The 2014 NPF Offensive Player of the Year dominated nearly ever offensive category. Myers posted a league-leading 43 RBI, clubbed nine home runs, (tied for 2nd) and registered 50 hits (3rd).

"Nerissa did it all in 2014 for the Racers," commented Joey Arrietta, the Akron GM.  "She hit the long ball, dropped down a bunt and was incredible quick on the base paths." Just an all-around great season for the diminutive Petal, Mississippi native.

The former Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajun racked up numerous collegiate honors. She collected two straight First-Team All-Sun Belt awards in 2012 and 2013. Myers also grabbed College Sports Madness Third-Team All-American honors in 2012. Myers developed an incredible penchant for scoring runs highlighted by leading the entire nation in runs in 2012 with 83. She set the school record for runs at Lafayette with 243.
