Akron Racers Charities has announced a $1.5 million ARC Development Project for the Firestone Stadium Complex

Akron, OH – Joey Arrietta, Akron Racers Charities Founder and President, has announced a $1.5 million ARC Development Project for the Firestone Stadium Complex.

The project is designed to engage individuals and businesses in a project that focuses on areas of the Firestone Stadium Complex that need improvement.  Since the weather can limit opportunities for young girls to learn the game, this project provides an area for teaching and practicing that is protected from the weather elements.

The ARC Development Project will provide a year-round training center that will focus under a “Train to Play” philosophy.  Area teams will be able to rent the facilities, which include four batting cages, two pitching tunnels and a full-size regulation diamond for defensive practices.  Throughout the year, the Akron Racers players will coordinate camps and clinics.  There will also be a short-game league that will allow teams to develop solid defensive play and focus on learning the strategies of the fastpitch games.  Ground breaking for the training center is planned for early July 2016.

There are also plans for a new concession stand, media room, and clubhouse.  All are key factors to retaining and serving the OHSAA Girl’s State Championships and the MAC.  The ARC Development Project will open the doors to other major events that will be able to be brought to the Akron area.

Presently, one of the ARC fundraising projects is the Champion Courtyard Brick Pavers campaign.  Individuals, businesses, fans, friends and teams can purchase a brick for $100.  The brick is 4 inches by 8 inches and has three lines for personalization.  The check can be made out to ARC Development Project and mailed to 1575 Firestone Parkway,
Akron, OH 44301.

Another fundraising project is the First Annual Diamond Casino Night.  This event is scheduled for May 2016.  This event will feature the Akron Racers players as
“Dealers for a Night”.
