The 2017 season promises to be an exciting year for the Racers in their newly renovated Stadium and playing field. The 2016 season also yielded Akron’s first NPF Rookie of the Year Award tapping shortstop, Sami Fagan a head of a talented field of players.

The memorable moments didn’t stop there in Akron, as the team hit the most home runs in the organization’s 15-season history with 57 dingers.  All-NPF centerfielder, Taylor Schlopy added to her already impressive resume becoming the Racers’ all-time leader with 195 hits and 157 runs in her career.

Defensive wizard and third baseman Kelley Montalvo and catcher Griffin Joiner also were named to the All-NPF team joining teammates, Fagan and Schlopy.

Make sure you don’t miss out as Andrews, Fagan, Schlopy, Montalvo and Joiner along with second-year pitcher Jailyn Ford and the newest arrival to Akron, pitcher, Emily Weiman. The Racers take aim at a championship season when the 2017 squad begins play at Firestone Stadium, June 23-25.

The entire Racers team and yet-to-be-named rookies from the 2017 NPF Senior Draft class will make every night at the corner of South Main Street and Wilbeth Road an exciting and enjoyable entertainment experience for fans eight-to-eighty.
