Order your tickets and “Fall in Love” this summer with the 2017 Akron Racers
AKRON, OH – The Akron Racers announced today that single-game tickets for the 2017 season will go on sale Tuesday, February 14th just in time to include in your Valentine’s Day card. Fans will be able to purchase tickets either over the phone by calling 330-376-8188 or by stopping by the Firestone Stadium box office.
The 2017 season promises to be an exciting year for the Racers in their newly renovated Stadium and playing field. The Racers will look to build off a groundbreaking 2016 season that saw right fielder A.J. Andrews become the first female to win the Rawlings Gold Glove Award in its 59-year history. The 2016 season also yielded Akron’s first NPF Rookie of the Year Award tapping shortstop, Sami Fagan a head of a talented field of players.
The memorable moments didn’t stop there in Akron, as the team hit the most home runs in the organization’s 15-season history with 57 dingers. All-NPF centerfielder, Taylor Schlopy added to her already impressive resume becoming the Racers’ all-time leader with 195 hits and 157 runs in her career.
Defensive wizard and third baseman Kelley Montalvo and catcher Griffin Joiner also were named to the All-NPF team joining teammates, Fagan and Schlopy.
Make sure you don’t miss out as Andrews, Fagan, Schlopy, Montalvo and Joiner along with second-year pitcher Jailyn Ford and the newest arrival to Akron, pitcher, Emily Weiman. The Racers take aim at a championship season when the 2017 squad begins play at Firestone Stadium, June 23-25.
The entire Racers team and yet-to-be-named rookies from the 2017 NPF Senior Draft class will make every night at the corner of South Main Street and Wilbeth Road an exciting and enjoyable entertainment experience for fans eight-to-eighty.
