A statistical look at the 2016 Akron Racers draftees through their senior seasons.  Focusing on the week of April 15-April 21.

 

Jailyn Ford, P, James Madison

Last Game: Played First Base, 0-2, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 BB in 8-0 win over Drexel on 4/17

Past Week:  Pitching: 1-0, 6.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 11 K

Hitting: 3 games, 2-8, 2 R, 3 RBI, 1 2B, 2 SB

This Season: Pitching: 14-1, 105.2 IP, 56 H, 26 BB, 118 K, 0.93 ERA

Hitting: .303 batting average, 28 R, 24 RBI, 7 2B, 2 3B, 8 HR

 

Recap: This past weekend James Madison swept Drexel in three games with Ford throwing six shutout innings in an 8-0 victory in the second game of a double header on 4/16

 

Sami Fagan, SS, Missouri

Last Game: 2-4, 2 R, 1 RBI, 1 2B in 11-4 victory over Iowa in second game of double header on 4/19

Past Week: 5 games, 4-15, 4 R, 3 RBI, 1 2B

This Season: .430 batting average, 44 R, 42 RBI, 7 2B, 0 3B, 10 HR

 

Recap: Missouri has won three of their last four games, including a double header sweep of Iowa last Tuesday.  Fagan went 2-5 with three runs scored against the Hawkeyes.

 

Alex Hugo, 2B, Georgia

Last Game: 0-1, 1 R, 1 RBI in 8-0 win over Georgia State on 4/20

Past Week: 4 games, 3-8, 1 R, 6 RBI, 2 2B

This Season: .317 batting average, 47 R, 42 RBI, 17 2B, 0 3B, 8 HR

 

Recap: Georgia went 2-2 over the past week in games against Tennessee and Georgia State.  Hugo plated six of the Bulldogs 17 runs in the past week.

 

Geri Ann Glasco, UT, Oregon

Last Game: 2-3, 1 R, 2 RBI, 1 HR in 9-0 win over Oregon State on 4/10

Past Week: Hitting: 0 games

Pitching: 0 games

This Season: Hitting: .374 batting average, 15 R, 25 RBI, 10 2B, 0 3B, 8 HR

Pitching: 6-0, 53.2 IP, 42 H, 12 BB, 42 K, 2.09 ERA

 

Recap: Oregon hasn’t played a game since the Ducks 9-0 win over rival Oregon State.  Oregon travels to Tempe, Arizona for a three-game series this weekend against Arizona State.

 

Sandra Simmons, 1B, LSU

Last Game: 1-3, 0 R, 1 RBI, 1 2B in 6-1 win over Northwestern State on 4/20

Past Week: 4 games, 5-14, 1 R, 2 RBI, 1 2B

This Season: .338 batting average, 25 R, 22 RBI, 7 2B, 1 3B, 2 HR

 

Recap: LSU won their last three games this week, going 3-1 overall.  Simmons went 5-10 with one run scored and 2 RBI in the three victories.

 

Hannah Day, C, Troy

Last Game: 1-4, 0 R, 0 RBI in 2-1 loss to Georgia Tech on 4/20

Past Week: 4 games, 3-11, 0 R, 1 RBI

This Season: .340 batting average, 36 R, 56 RBI, 8 2B, 1 3B, 15 HR

 

Recap: Troy went 1-3 this past week playing three games against Texas State and one against Georgia Tech.  Day went 2-3 with an RBI in the Trojans 3-2 win over Texas State last Saturday.

 

Emily Messer, UT, South Alabama

Last Game: 2-3, 1 R, 0 RBI in 4-2 loss to Alabama on 4/20

Past Week: 4 games, 6-14, 5 R, 1 RBI

This Season: .460 batting average, 39 R, 17 RBI, 8 2B, 5 3B, 0 HR

 

Recap: In South Alabama’s double header sweep of Georgia Southern last Saturday, Messer went 3-8 with four runs scored and an RBI.

 

Hannah Perryman, P, Missouri-St. Louis

Last Game: 7.0 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 7 K in complete game victory over Indianapolis in first game of a double header on 4/17

Past Week: 3 starts, 2-1 record, 19.0 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 21 K

This Season: 38-3, 280.2 IP, 130 H, 42 BB, 466 K, 0.95 ERA

 

Recap: Missouri-St. Louis went 3-1 this past week in double headers against Indianapolis and St. Joseph’s.  Perryman threw three complete games for the Tritons, going 2-1 with 21 strikeouts in 19 innings of work.
